At Bare Bones Barbell we LOVE the Olympic Lifts. Our goal for Tucson, and Southern Arizona, is to introduce and grow the sport of Olympic-Style Weightlifting at the grassroots level, from youngsters up to Master's. Olympic Weightlifting is fundamentally accessible to anyone. Even if you have never touched a barbell, you can come in and learn the two basic Olympic Lifts, the Snatch and the Clean and Jerk. If you have dabbled in the Olympic Lifts and would like knowledgeable coaching to improve your lifts, we are the place for you. At Bare Bones Barbell, we have four USA Weightlifting-certified coaches available to work with you. If you are an athlete, it is well-established in the strength and conditioning world, that the appropriate use of the Olympic Lifts will improve your strength, speed and power for your sport. We can create a program for you incorporating the Olympic Lifts to improve your athletic performance
Olympic Lifting Mini Clinic
The purpose of this course is to take all participants through complete technical progressions of the Snatch, the Clean & Jerk and all associated movements including Power Snatch, Power Clean, Power Jerk, Squat variations and pulling progressions. All attendees will gain a base line knowledge of the training and technical rules of Olympic Lifting. The clinic will meet one time on a Saturday afternoon at 3:30pm, lasting approximately 3 hours.
